How it started:
It was about a year ago, in March that i stumbled upon Yoga.
Back then, i just started to go gaga & crazy over Pole dancing aka Pole Exercise.
Check out this video, one of the many on youtube for pole dancers.
-pole dancing isn't as simple as you think it is.
And then...
Because pole dancing professionally wasn't as simple as strutting around the pole and grating your body against it, there was a need to improve flexibility & strength with Calisthenics (that gymnast do) - to be able to do splits and back bends and stuff.
Thus while searching for tips online, i saw Tara Stiles & her guide on yoga.
Back then, it was a video under Ford Models (which she was part of) and they had random things models do and hers was on her favorite Yoga. With her step by step approach, i got hooked! (she's very popular now, just check out her site apparently i'm not the only one she inspired.
And i got it.
Yoga with a combination calisthenics.
you revive every part of your body, your waist, your hips, your thighs, the back of your arms, it really aligns your body, improves your posture, tones your body and well, you become very agile and flexible. Yes, of course, a much healthier lifestyle.
Here's Tara with a few of her videos which i just found:
the original one that inspired me isn't in youtube already though..hmm.
She has a website for Yoga Tara Stiles Yoga
Yoga Basic poses - really good ones for beginners.
Yoga for Jocks - here she stretches the Hamstrings, arms, shoulders, eases the hipsand its good for guys too.
Bend it like Tara - here she gives some stretching exercise tips
More Yoga Resources:
